      Thanks for the reply.
Removing the line autospawn=no enabled PulseAudio again if I'm not mistaking.

Already tried the 3rd answer on that thread with no luck.

      @dox1842

I'm glad it's working and the resolution is expected behavior, but keep in mind that this only fixes the singular hotkey issue. While that's a positive for now, as long as you have 'save on exit' enabled and you continue to change your settings further, each system will have different configuration settings and problems like the one you just solved will begin to surface in other areas.

@mitu - Thanks for the link. I added the system environment variables mentioned in the ARCH wiki and verified the were set and showed up using vainfo. VLC itself still was accelerated (~30% CPU), emulationstation was still not @~165% cpu

@willindiana You can edit retroarch.cfg and set the driver. May I suggest you try also the lr-beetle-psx core ? It has Vulkan support and since you're on x86 it can be installed from the optional packages section.

Is RetroPie using special optimized shaders for the pi?

it uses a curated subset of the shaders that have been shown to work well or work at all. many shaders in the libretro repo will crash or not work right.

To be a bit more clear: when selecting a non-working preset retroarch just dumps me back to the filter selection screen without making any changes.

I bought a wood kit and it came with a 1 player panel and also a 2 player panel. ...didn’t think I would have 2 people playing it at one time very much so went with the single player option. ...it’s only a 19” monitor so not super huge

I did the same thing, but for different reason: my button layout uses 12 buttons and 0 joystick. For second player, I put an USB controller.

Sorry for the lengthy delay in replying...
IRL got in the way :-)

OK so it's definitely only the navigation sounds missing. I've tried several themes and none seem to have sound.

I'm guessing they must not be supported in Ubuntu as i don't seem to have them in the Sound Settings menu item.

      Oh well :-)

Yes, I can see that I have to run most of the games I try at low settings. Not so worried about that, and the Dreamcast and Saturn emulators still have a ton of issues. However, I still want to try. Wish I could figure the exit issues out...... Kinda figured that would be the easy one....

I also get that error on Ubuntu 16.04 x64. The issue is described here:
      https://github.com/libretro/parallel-n64/issues/441

After installing libclang-dev and adding /usr/lib/llvm-3.8/include to the include path I had this error:

In file included from /usr/lib/llvm-3.8/include/clang/Basic/DiagnosticOptions.h:13:0, from mupen64plus-rsp-paraLLEl/jit.cpp:3: /usr/lib/llvm-3.8/include/clang/Basic/LLVM.h:22:34: fatal error: llvm/Support/Casting.h: No such file or directory

So I installed llvm-dev and then I could compile fine.

Any chance to get this incorporated into RetroPie?

@Charononus Might be useful thanks. And the es_input.cfg would be useful for comparison.
